I’m going to college next year for music composition, and I hope to write music for movies someday. :D Here are some of my compositions, arrangements, and covers.
River’s Theme - This is a theme for an original character of mine (and a friend’s) named River Greenwood. Its three sections reflect the sadness of her father’s death, the mystique of her new-found telepathic/telekinetic powers, and the happiness she finds with her friends. Instrumentation: flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto sax, french horn, 2 violins, cello, string bass, vibraphone, and various percussion.
Aerith’s Theme - An arrangement of the popular song from Final Fantasy VII. Instrumentation: flute, oboe, 2 clarinets, bass clarinet, bassoon, french horn, and string bass.
X-Men: First Class - I recently saw X-Men: First Class, fell in love with the movie, and then fell in love with the soundtrack (Henry Jackman)! So here is me, playing parts from the first track, “First Class” on my clarinet. The first track is just the clarinet (boring!) and the second track is the clarinet added to the original track. I transcribed it by ear, onto Finale PrintMusic 2009, then used Audacity to record and mix everything. (Oh yeah, and sorry for the terrible high notes towards the end! Damn violins have got a couple notes over the reasonable clarinet range.)
Last Duel - An original composition I did for my composition seminar in spring 2012, and the first piece I’ve ever had performed live! Instrumentation: 4 Bb clarinets and a bass clarinet.
